Choose a state, report day, and trade preset. Then filter the returned reports by county. No address or location permission is needed. ## Public data The roofing preset includes tornado, wind, and hail reports. The auto body preset shows hail reports only. Both use the same public source. ## What this shows NOAA's Storm Prediction Center publishes preliminary storm reports. The report day starts at noon UTC and ends at 11:59 UTC the next day. Report times display in Eastern time. Hail sizes display in inches. Wind speeds display in miles per hour. Unknown magnitudes stay unknown. County counts describe reports, not a damage footprint. Exact report coordinates and free-text comments are excluded. Current National Weather Service alert counts appear separately. They cover the selected state at the last check, even when you choose a historical report day. They are not a county warning service. For a recorded example, choose TX and 2026.04.26. Choose 2026.10.26 to inspect a source file that returned no reports during verification. These are historical examples, not current storm conditions. ## Limits Reports are preliminary, can be revised, and do not capture every weather event. A successful empty file means no reports were returned. A failed source produces an error instead. The daily report file is cached for one hour. Alerts are cached for fifteen minutes. Cached alert counts can include an alert that expired after the last check. Use [official NWS information](https://www.weather.gov/) for current warnings. A response displays at most five hundred report rows. Counts include all returned reports. A notice identifies truncated rows. Storm reports cannot establish damage to a roof or vehicle, insurance eligibility, repair scope, or safe access. This presentation is unofficial. ## What the private version adds A private tool joins public events to the company's service areas, capacity, and authorized inspection or booking records. It stores event snapshots and checked outcomes in records the company owns. The operations manager sets the service boundaries. The field supervisor or repair planner checks conditions and capacity before a decision. Over time, the company keeps its own record of confirmed findings, bookings, and false alarms.
