The server requests six complete calendar months of public counts. No account or personal details are needed. ## What this shows The table separates initial licenses, relocations, activity changes, and commercial permit text matches. These are license records and permits, not unique businesses. Renewals are excluded. The source month uses the issue date. The latest matching source date appears separately from retrieval time. License filters search the published business activity text. Food includes FOOD or DINING. Retail includes RETAIL or MERCHANDISE. Office includes OFFICE. The all-activities choice includes every license activity. Permit filters use RESTAURANT for food, RETAIL or STORE for retail, and OFFICE for office. The broader permit view also includes COMMERCIAL. Descriptions containing RESIDENTIAL, DWELLING, or APARTMENT are excluded. These conservative rules miss some commercial work. Mixed-use projects can be excluded. Counts below five and their latest matching dates are withheld as a product safeguard. This does not prevent inference across overlapping filters or source revisions. Missing rows mean no matching records were returned, not confirmed inactivity. No totals combine these streams. Multiple licenses can belong to one business. ## Limits Chicago is the only supported city. A license is not an opening date. A permit does not establish that a business needs an agency or has a budget. Keyword matches require review. Permits and licenses here are not paired by address or unit. The source publishes daily updates. Public results are cached for up to one day. Tokenless source requests can be throttled. A source failure is shown as unavailable, not zero activity. When the source returns HTTP 429, the demo can show a saved public result up to seven days old. It keeps the original retrieval time and displays a warning. Other source failures and missing or older snapshots remain unavailable. No proprietor names, mailing addresses, contacts, or visitor selection history are saved by this application. Public aggregate cache entries are shared. Short-lived network admission counters protect the endpoint. Hosting access logs remain outside this application's record. The private function matches permitted business records to the agency's own accounts, checks address and unit conflicts, and stores reviewed project history. A researcher confirms the business and stage before any proposal. The record accumulates false matches, confirmed moves, and timing evidence the public counts cannot provide.
