This release covers Wake County in North Carolina and Dallas County in Texas. ## What this shows The U.S. Drought Monitor releases a weekly map on Thursday using conditions through the preceding Tuesday. The result shows returned map dates and validity dates. The retrieval time tells you when this tool fetched the records. D1 shows county area in moderate drought or worse. D2 shows county area in severe drought or worse. These are cumulative percentages. Never add them. Changes are percentage points between consecutive weekly maps. Missing values remain unavailable. The foundation preset adds questions about your own inquiry history and inspection slots. The landscaping preset adds questions about planting dates, species, irrigation status, and site checks. Both presets show the same public evidence. A private function can join this county history to your own records and preserve the decisions your team checks. [See AI systems](/ai-systems) ## Limits County conditions cannot establish soil moisture under a house, diagnose damage, predict plant loss, or decide warranty liability. Qualified staff must check local conditions before changing inspection capacity or plant care. This tool gives no watering direction and cannot override local restrictions. The latest returned map can precede today. A shorter history can mean missing source records. No records does not mean no drought. This tool collects no addresses, account names, personal contact details, warranty records, or visitor location. The source needs no API key. No published request ceiling was found in the opened service documentation. The server limits requests and caches public results until the next Thursday boundary. It checks hourly on Thursday.
