These four IDs were checked against the source on 2026.10.27. The form sends only these public selectors. ## What this shows The comparison uses reported site energy intensity, measured in kBtu per square foot. Peers share EPA property type and a floor-area band: under 50,000, 50,000 to under 200,000, or 200,000 square feet and above. The percentile is the share of eligible peers with intensity at or below the selected building, including that building. It is not a performance grade. Records must be compliant, not demolished, and have positive intensity and floor area. This bounded demonstration covers Hotel and Office comparisons in Seattle's 2024 nonresidential records. Peer statistics need at least ten eligible buildings. An absent or ineligible record produces no comparison. The source is [Seattle Building Energy Benchmarking](https://data.seattle.gov/resource/teqw-tu6e.json). Its [metadata](https://data.seattle.gov/api/views/teqw-tu6e.json) labels the dataset Public Domain. Reporting year appears separately from retrieval time. The public result is cached for up to seven days. A source outage can return a labeled result retrieved within thirty days. ## Limits Annual reported energy use cannot diagnose a failed unit, describe current equipment, or establish savings. Building use, operating hours, and reporting quality can affect intensity. These coarse size bands do not make the buildings identical. This demonstration has no mechanical-permit join. The response contains building IDs and energy measures. It excludes building names, addresses, occupants, owner contacts, utility accounts, and visitor search history. The service uses short-lived network admission counters. Infrastructure access logs follow the hosting provider's settings. ## What the private version adds The private function joins public building evidence and reviewed permit matches to the firm's verified equipment, site findings, and proposal records. Stored history records corrections and observed results per building. A sales director sets the territory. An estimator checks each match before an approach. The company owns that record.
