This demo covers Chicago citywide only. The public dataset has no police district field. It requests aggregate counts for twenty-four complete calendar months. No case details or personal information can be entered. ## What this shows Each monthly row shows matching adult arrest records, all adult arrest records in the city feed, and the selected family's share. The denominator is all city records for that month. Share equals matching records divided by total records, multiplied by one hundred. Shares are rounded to two decimal places. Only the most severe listed charge, charge_1_description, is matched. Each arrest record can enter a selected family once, even if it lists several charges. This is not a count of all charges or unique people. The keyword map is visible: - Driving under the influence: DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE. - Domestic: DOMESTIC. - Drugs: PCS -, CONTROLLED SUB, CON SUB, CANNABIS, or DRUG. - Theft: THEFT. - Weapons: WEAPON, FIREARM, or UNLAWFUL USE. These broad text families are not legal classifications. They can overlap and miss abbreviations or differently worded charges. Do not add the families into a total. A lawyer must review any private category crosswalk. A nonzero selected group or its remaining group below five causes the selected count and share to be withheld. City totals below five and their latest source dates are also withheld. Selected-group dates are withheld with selected counts. Overlapping categories and source revisions can still support inference. This is a product safeguard, not a legal threshold. Zero means no matching records in that month's returned feed, not proof that no such arrests occurred. A month without any city source rows is omitted rather than filled with zero. ## Limits Arrest is not conviction. These records do not establish guilt, legal need, court filings, a firm's market share, or demand for representation. Use them to prepare questions about practice coverage. Do not use them to target arrested people or judge an area. The publisher limits the dataset to adult arrests and excludes records expunged by the department. History can change. No district, case number, CB number, block address, race, age, or sex is requested or returned. The source date is the latest city arrest date in that month's returned records. It is not a publication timestamp. Results are cached daily. Source delays and incomplete reporting can affect the picture. Keyless source calls may be throttled. Unavailable sources produce errors, never a zero-case result. When the source returns HTTP 429, the demo can show a saved public result up to seven days old. It keeps the original retrieval time and displays a warning. Other source failures and missing or older snapshots remain unavailable. The application saves no visitor selection history or individual arrest record. It caches shared aggregates and uses short-lived network admission counters. Hosting access logs remain outside the application record. Private intake records stay inside the firm under its confidentiality rules. An operations lead checks the charge map. A private function joins reviewed aggregate categories and months to the firm's own intake counts, then stores the comparison history. The partner reviews staffing and advertising decisions. The firm owns the intake comparison, corrected mappings, and monthly history.
