Consider self-hosted WordPress when hosting choice and a supported WordPress integration matter to your requirements. Choose after demonstrating your edits, property search, and received seller and buyer inquiries. Webflow provides managed hosting. WordPress.org supplies software you can install through your chosen host. These are different operating arrangements. The selection advice and proposed checks below are editorial recommendations. ## Compare the website you will operate Give each builder the same proposed tasks and acceptance checks. Webflow stores CMS content in Collections. Each Collection uses a shared template and content structure for its items. Its fields include rich text, images, dates, and references to other items. For your proposal, ask for a neighborhood Collection with fields for the approved overview, source links, review date, and related service page. Have the builder demonstrate adding a guide and correcting it later. This is a suggested structure, not a built-in real estate package. WordPress supports posts and pages, along with registered custom post types. Its documentation recommends putting custom post types in a plugin so changing the theme preserves content portability. Require the builder to identify the plugin or code that defines any custom structure. Inspect how its fields and templates would survive a change of theme or maintainer. Choose the structure by publishing work. If you need repeatable local guides, require a demonstrated template and an editing guide for those fields. If your scope contains only service pages and a biography, ask whether that work needs a CMS. ## What can you edit without the builder? Webflow's content editor role can edit permitted text, links, images, and existing Collection items. It cannot change design structure or create new Collections. WordPress's block editor supports page and post content through blocks such as paragraphs, headings, and images. Confirm which editor your builder will deliver. Revise a biography sentence, replace an approved photograph, and publish a neighborhood guide. Inspect the public page on a phone. Check that the contact button still opens the intended route. Then ask for a wider change, such as adding a new content field or changing the page layout. Have the builder distinguish that task from ordinary content editing. Put the responsible person and future-change terms beside it. Avoid buying an editing promise without seeing your proposed login perform the work. Keep Webflow-specific compatibility unresolved until the provider confirms your configuration. Supply the MLS names, current IDX service, and required search functions. Ask who holds each subscription and who maintains the connection. Resolve any approval conditions before treating a search demonstration as complete. Require a phone demonstration from property search to a property-specific question received at your agreed destination. Inspect the property reference in the received message. Keep the seller-service form as a separate check. Use IDX support to select the CMS. Leave installation instructions and feed setup in the integration scope. ## Where do seller and buyer inquiries go? Webflow documents configurable form notification recipients and reply-to details. Gravity Forms, a WordPress plugin, documents notification recipients and message settings. These are configured delivery routes, rather than evidence that your site receives inquiries. Inspect the visitor confirmation and the matching received record. Check that the question, contact details, and property reference arrive where required. Confirm that a reply reaches the test address. Repeat the agreed checks after a platform change or delivery repair. Accept the route when the intended recipient receives the required information. ## Who maintains the site, and what continues to cost money? Webflow says it manages hosting and platform software updates. WordPress documents automatic background updates as well as other update methods, and recommends backing up before an update. For Webflow, name who checks public pages, forms, and external connections after changes. For WordPress, have the host and maintainer divide responsibility for core software, themes, plugins, backups, and failed updates. Assign restore and inquiry faults to a named provider. Request continuing charges for the actual configuration: hosting or platform subscription, domain renewal, IDX, paid extensions, and maintenance where applicable. Record the payer, account holder, renewal terms, and cancellation effect. Obtain a current quote tied to your required editing and publishing access. Compare the same work and billing period. Platform subscription prices and numeric plan allowances are not quoted here. ## Which produces a faster agent website? Require measurements from your proposed pages. Webflow describes its managed hosting infrastructure. WordPress's optimization guide identifies hosting, configuration, software, and image sizes as performance factors. Neither source measures your proposed site. Test a seller page and a buyer-search page with the intended images and integrations. Record the addresses, date, device conditions, and measurements. Inspect whether the contact route stays usable while the page loads. Agree performance acceptance criteria before the builder runs the checks. Request another measurement after an agreed repair. Leave comparative speed unresolved until you have comparable evidence. ## What does an export preserve? Webflow's code export requires a paid Workspace plan; a Site plan alone does not include it. The export contains HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and assets. It excludes CMS content and leaves Webflow forms and site search nonfunctional on the exported site. Webflow separately exports Collection content as CSV. Image and file fields contain hosted URLs, which can break if you delete the source site. For Webflow, ask a replacement provider to inspect both exports. Require them to identify how neighborhood pages, images, search, and inquiry delivery would be reconstructed. Confirm export access before relying on the proposed handoff. WordPress's content export creates an XML file containing posts, pages, and other documented content. A typical complete restore needs the database and site files.
