Accept the repair only after the intended recipient finds a matching buyer or seller test inquiry. Webflow separates submission storage from email notifications. A custom action bypasses both. Use this guide with the person maintaining your real estate website. The diagnostic sequence and acceptance checks are recommendations. Agree controlled test details and recipients before submitting anything. ## Identify where this form sends the inquiry Start with the exact seller, buyer, or property page. Record its public address, form identity, intended destination, and receiving person. Ask the maintainer to show the current configuration. In the form's Settings panel, **Send to** controls its destinations. Selecting Webflow stores entries in **Site settings > Forms**. A custom action instead sends entries to an external endpoint and cannot coexist with Webflow storage or email notifications. For an external destination, ask its owner to locate the inquiry there. Keep an unconfirmed connection marked unresolved. Avoid replacing a working external route merely to make an entry appear in Webflow. Separate a property-provider form from your own seller-service form in the inventory. Have the builder identify who controls each one. Request the relevant provider's instructions before changing an embedded form. ## Look for the stored inquiry before repeating it For a form configured to store entries in Webflow, inspect **Site settings > Forms**. Use a recognizable test label and contact details you control. Compare the submitted question and contact information with the saved entry. For a property inquiry, compare any property reference your form already collects. Use this proposed worksheet to choose the next investigation: | Evidence from your test | Investigation to request | | --- | --- | | Stored entry found; expected email missing | Inspect the notification destination and receiving mailbox. | | No stored entry; custom action configured | Inspect the external destination with its owner. | | No stored entry; Webflow storage intended | Inspect the configured destination, public domain, plan, and visible failure. | | Email received; question or reply details missing | Compare the notification content with the original submission. | Record the last confirmed step. Keep the visitor's visible result beside the receiving evidence. Require the receiving person to locate the inquiry in their normal working view. ## Configure the notification for the actual form Webflow's documented notification procedure is to select the form, open its Settings panel, and choose **Email Notifications** under **Send to**. Configure recipients, sender label, reply address, subject, and body, then select **Apply**. After changes, republish and test the live form. Review the intended recipient with the person responsible for answering seller or buyer questions. Keep the previous configuration with the repair record. Require the received message to preserve the complete question and usable reply details. Where property context is required, compare it with the original entry. Check the reply destination before preparing a reviewed reply to the controlled test address. Webflow supports submitted field values in the reply address and message. New forms inherit site defaults, while individual forms can override them. Ask the maintainer to demonstrate the configuration on the seller page and each separate buyer route. Leave missing receipt open even when the settings appear correct. ## Check plan and hosting boundaries The free Starter Site plan permits 50 lifetime submissions, without a reset. Its notification recipients must be Workspace members, with a maximum of five. A custom-domain form needs an active Site plan; the webflow.io staging domain does not. Have the maintainer identify the actual Site plan and test domain. Ask them to compare the account's usage with the documented allowance. Keep a staging test separate from acceptance on your public website. Exporting the website does not preserve Webflow form processing. Webflow directs externally hosted sites to another submission tool or embedded form. Before a hosting move, require a written replacement route for every inquiry form. Name its account owner, receiving destination, maintenance responsibility, and acceptance evidence. Repeat the receipt check on the final domain. If reCAPTCHA is enabled site-wide, Webflow requires its element on every form; missing elements prevent submission.
