Include service text, hours, page titles, and contact instructions in the demonstration. Judge the complete editing workflow before selecting a platform. Write the requirements first. A product described as an “SEO CMS” still needs to fit the people maintaining your website and the pages your customers use. ## Name the changes staff must own List routine edits and the role responsible for each. Separate a text correction from a layout change, a new service page, or a new connected form. Decide which tasks staff need to complete independently. Choose examples from your actual site. A hypothetical local shop might need to change holiday hours, replace a product photograph, and update pickup instructions. A contractor might need to revise a service limit and publish a new project description. Ask the supplier to show those edits using the proposed permissions. Record any task that needs a developer, a paid addition, or another system. ## Inspect the page the editor produces Google's SEO Starter Guide recommends making content useful, organized, and understandable. It also describes descriptive titles and useful links. Use the published page, rather than the editing interface alone, to assess those requirements. It does not claim any particular CMS includes them. ## Check search fields without promising search display Google recommends concise, descriptive titles and may use multiple sources when generating title links. Ask the supplier to show the title your site publishes. Keep the eventual search display separate from that acceptance check. Google may use a meta description for a snippet, but it primarily draws snippets from page content. Require an editable, page-specific description where the scope calls for one. Keep your buying decision tied to the demonstrated business tasks. ## Include forms and outside services Ask whether editing a page also changes a connected form, scheduler, or listing. Record each dependency and its responsible account. Include the received inquiry in any demonstration that changes contact fields. Decide who can alter a destination or publish a new form. Give staff clear instructions for escalating those changes. Do not bury them within a general text-edit permission. ## Make handover part of selection Request a sample content export, account list, backup process, and maintenance instructions. Ask another responsible person to locate the current service text and identify how it would be restored after an error. Compare dated quotes for the same pages, permissions, and connected features. Include any recurring services and future developer work identified during the demonstration. Keep unanswered capabilities unresolved until the supplier provides evidence.
