Record whether the problem concerns verification, claiming the address, or both. Keep the store owner involved in any account decision. Google distinguishes verification, which demonstrates website ownership, from claiming, which links the website address with a Merchant Center account. Its guidance says one URL can be claimed by one account, with a multi-client-account arrangement supporting shared claiming rights. It does not establish which account currently controls your store's claim. ## Capture the exact account and address Ask the store owner for the Merchant Center account identifier and the public store address. Save the complete issue wording and current status. Keep screenshots free of private tokens and unnecessary personal information. Record the person responsible for the account, website, and ecommerce integration. If several agencies or former providers were involved, identify their roles without assuming they still have access. Open the submitted store address as a visitor. Record the final destination after any redirect. The website brief needs the affected component and responsible person, rather than a copy of every secret. ## Separate a missing token from a claim conflict If the current method depends on a website tag or file, ask the maintainer to inspect that exact artifact. Record whether the live output contains what the approved setup requires. If the account reports a claim problem, ask the administrator to investigate the account relationship. Avoid deleting another account, transferring ownership, or removing access merely to test a theory.
