Compare the menu items displayed on your Business Profile, its menu link, your website, and any linked document. Record which surface contains the old information. Google supports menu items, descriptions, and prices on food and drink Business Profiles. It also supports a menu link. These are separate documented controls. Use the checks below as a correction plan. They do not establish the cause of an error on your profile. ## Start with the menu your staff approve Ask the person responsible for the menu to supply the current version. Confirm which location, meal period, and service it covers. Keep dine-in, takeout, catering, and seasonal menus separate when their contents differ. Choose several items to compare. Include an item with a recent price change, a removed item, and a current special if applicable. Write down their approved names, descriptions, and prices. Add the approval date and the staff member responsible. Avoid rewriting dietary or ingredient claims during a website repair. Give disputed wording to the person who approves food information. Publish only the wording that person confirms. ## Identify the wrong surface Search for the restaurant and inspect its public menu information. Open the menu link separately. Follow every menu button on your website, including the phone navigation. Its documentation explains how to inspect that source before copying items. Check what your editor shows before deciding where an old item originated. Keep an old document address if it remains publicly linked. A new file elsewhere does not close the repair until the guest-facing link is checked. ## Give the website menu a readable version Use a normal web page for the menu information you want guests to read. Organize the approved sections under descriptive headings. Keep a downloadable version as an additional option when the restaurant needs it. W3C advises avoiding images of text where possible. When text is presented as an image, its alternative must convey the same words. Apply that guidance when reviewing a menu available only as a photograph. Check item names, descriptions, prices, and section changes. Open any download and confirm it belongs to the same location and service. Do not accept a blanket explanation that every PDF is invisible to search. This repair brief asks for readable, accurate guest information and a verified destination. ## Correct each confirmed mismatch Give the profile manager the approved replacement and the exact field involved. Give the website editor a separate list of page and file changes. Ask the ordering provider to confirm corrections on its own destination. If your profile uses an API-supplied menu, check that arrangement first. Google warns that the normal menu editor may be unavailable for API-provided menus. Keep a pending display change open until you observe the corrected information. ## Keep the next menu change coordinated Name one person to approve menu wording and another to check the public copies if necessary. Include the website, profile, files, and ordering destination in the change checklist. Record which surfaces each person can edit.
