# Real estate blog topics: choose questions you can answer

Choose real estate blog topics from buyer and seller questions you can answer with evidence. Start with preparation, your selling process, local housing choices, and questions about a particular property. Give each idea a reader, a source, and a page where the answer belongs.

Use the examples below to prepare your own shortlist. They are proposed topics, not a list of the most searched questions. Replace placeholders with the market you serve. Keep an idea in your research notes until you can support the answer.

Your first deliverable is a brief: the question, the decision it supports, the evidence, and the intended page. Use that brief to decide whether to write, update, combine, or hold the topic.

## Start with a question from your own work

Review questions you are authorized to retain from buyer and seller conversations. Remove names, contact details, addresses, and private transaction circumstances. Keep the question's meaning without copying a person's story into your marketing.

Write the reader's decision beside the question. A seller asking about preparation needs a way to assess the next task. A buyer asking about an unfinished community needs to know which information to verify. Keep those purposes visible while choosing an outline.

For an outside starting point, NAR's seller guide covers services, local knowledge, pricing, marketing, and preparing a home. It offers questions for choosing an agent. It supplies no search-volume measurement. [NAR's seller-agent questions](https://www.nar.realtor/the-facts/consumer-guide-ten-questions-to-ask-a-sellers-agent).

Use the guide to identify an explanation you can write from your own process. If you discuss how you prepare a marketing plan, describe your actual steps. Keep claims about sales, timing, and results out until you have publishable evidence.

Compare the idea with your website before assigning a new article. Read your seller page, service description, and relevant local guide. Mark the missing answer in the brief. If the answer already exists, propose a correction or expansion at that address.

## Use search data to refine the question

Google Search Console's Performance report groups results by queries and pages. It reports clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position. Google also allows date-range and search-type filters. [Google's Performance report instructions](https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7576553?hl=en).

For your planning check, choose a date range and record it. Inspect questions related to a page you maintain. Open that page and compare its answer with the query. Save the query, page address, and observed gap together.

Keep search data separate from your conversation notes. Label a topic from a seller conversation accordingly. Label a topic from a search report with its report conditions. If you lack access, leave that evidence field empty.

For keyword research supplied by a contractor, request the exact phrase, location, collection date, and metric source. Keep unknown demand marked as unknown. Ask which existing page should answer the phrase before accepting a new page recommendation.

Use this information to refine the reader and scope. Avoid adding every related phrase as a separate assignment. Compare the proposed answers and combine ideas that would produce the same explanation.

## Build a shortlist from topics you can substantiate

Use this table as an editorial worksheet. Each row proposes a question and a source to gather. None reports a measured customer question or a completed transaction.

| Topic to adapt | Reader's decision | Evidence to gather before drafting |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What should I prepare before discussing a home sale? | What to bring to the first conversation | Your approved preparation process and document checklist |
| How do you choose comparable properties? | What to ask about the pricing method | Your actual selection method and data you may publish |
| What goes into your plan for marketing a home? | Which work to discuss with the agent | Your current service description and approved process |
| What happens between an inquiry and a listing consultation? | How to request the conversation | The contact route, recipient, and process you provide |
| What can a buyer verify about a planned community? | Which facts remain unresolved | Current authority records and identified builder statements |
| Which housing types does this local guide cover? | Whether the guide addresses the property sought | Dated observations and permitted property information |
| Where can a buyer check a property's school assignment? | Where to verify the address | The district's current official lookup and its stated scope |
| What documents should a buyer request about association charges? | Which charges need confirmation | Current documents you may cite and the questions they resolve |
| What should someone inspect before relying on a market summary? | Whether the summary fits the property | Data source, period, boundary, and property types included |
| How do you distinguish a planned amenity from an open facility? | Whether the feature is available now | The responsible party's current status information |
| What should a seller ask before using an online value estimate? | What still needs a property-specific discussion | The tool's published limits and your approved review process |
| What changed in an existing guide after its source was updated? | Which information deserves another check | The earlier page, new source, and supported correction |

Choose a row that matches work you perform. Narrow it to one question you can answer. For a preparation article, explain the requested material and how you use it. For a local question, name the source readers should consult.

Keep school, association, development, and valuation topics as research assignments until their evidence is available. Ask your broker to review applicable public wording. Do not fill a missing answer with a general claim about the area or a forecast.

Treat these as alternative starting points. You do not need an article for every row. Choose the topic whose evidence and purpose you can explain before commissioning the writing.

## Check whether the answer belongs in a blog post

Write down the proposed page's main job. Use a blog post for a bounded explanation or a dated development in your work. Consider a maintained service page for the process you offer. Put the full description of a place in the guide that already covers it.

Make that choice from your site's inventory. An article about a change can link to the maintained guide. A preparation explanation can sit within your seller page when that page already supplies the right context. Keep the publication location explicit in the brief.

Before choosing a new address, compare the headings and answers on existing pages. Identify what the new article would add. If its answer repeats another page, revise the assignment or update the earlier page.

Google asks publishers to assess original information, clear sourcing, and value beyond rewritten material. Use that standard when reviewing the proposed answer. [Google's helpful-content guidance](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/creating-helpful-content).

Avoid creating a batch by swapping town names in otherwise unchanged copy. Google's scaled-content policy addresses large amounts of low-value content created primarily to manipulate rankings. It applies regardless of how that content is produced. [Google's spam policies](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies).

For each proposed local article, require a different question or different supporting evidence. Keep the assignment on hold when the only difference is its location label.

## Turn the selected topic into a writing brief

Open a blank brief and state the question in a sentence. Follow it with the reader's decision. Write the answer you expect to support, then gather the sources needed to check it.

Use these fields to make the assignment reviewable:

| Brief field | What to record |
| --- | --- |
| Reader | Buyer, seller, or property owner, with the relevant decision |
| Main question | The question this page will answer |
| Intended answer | Your proposed explanation, subject to evidence review |
| Source record | URLs, document titles, dates, and the claims each supports |
| Your contribution | Actual process, permitted observations, or original explanation |
| Existing page | The current answer and why it needs an update or a separate article |
| Limits | Facts unavailable, claims omitted, and checks left to the reader |
| Next step | A related guide or a defined way to ask about the property |
| Review owner | The person checking facts and approving public wording |

Keep the source record beside the draft. Give each figure its period, geography, and supporting document. Separate a proposal from a completed feature. If a source changes before approval, reopen the affected claim.

For an article about your process, ask the person who performs the work to review it. Remove a step your business cannot provide. Use an actual author or reviewer whose role you can describe accurately.

Google encourages accurate bylines and links to an author's background. Its guidance also warns against fabricated identities and credentials. [Google's authorship guidance](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/creating-helpful-content).

## Make the title and links describe the answer

Name the question or task in your title. Keep the promised answer within the evidence you gathered. Avoid titles claiming the best result, a guaranteed timeline, or an exhaustive ranking without the material to establish it.

Google recommends concise, descriptive page titles and warns against repeated boilerplate and keyword stuffing. [Google's title guidance](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/title-link).

Use the opening paragraph to answer the question. Follow it with the method, sources, and limits the reader needs. Remove sections that add another topic without helping that decision.

Link to the source beside the claim it supports. Use a label that identifies what the reader will find. Add an internal link when another page supplies useful context. Google's link guidance recommends descriptive text and contextual internal links. [Google's link recommendations](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/links-crawlable).

Test the article on your phone before approval. Open its sources and related pages. Follow the contact route if you include one. Keep any permitted test submission separate from real inquiries.

## Keep the topic plan tied to the evidence

Give the article an owner and a list of facts to recheck. Choose review dates according to the sources involved. When a source changes, identify the affected sentence and verify its replacement before publishing it.

Record the article address and publication date in your planning sheet. For a revised page, retain the change date and what changed. Compare later search observations under the same recorded conditions. Review actual inquiries separately.

Search Console clicks record clicks from search results; impressions record appearances there. Those measures do not identify a completed seller consultation. Keep your inquiry record alongside the search report without treating the counts as interchangeable. [Google's metric definitions](https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7576553?hl=en).

Use the review to choose the next task. Correct an unsupported passage, answer a missing question, or hold a new idea while gathering its evidence. Keep useful existing material in the plan when it still answers the reader.

## Bring the brief into your website scope

Take your selected question, source record, and existing page to [the real estate website page](/for/real-estate). Include the article's intended place in the site and the next step it should offer.

If the website needs a fix, name the publishing, page, or contact problem in the brief. Ask for those repairs and their acceptance checks in the written scope. Keep the article's evidence and public wording ready for review.
