Match each public image with its approved rights information and license inquiry route. Then ask a developer to connect those details to the exact image file. Google supports structured data or embedded IPTC photo metadata. Licensing information can make an image eligible for its Licensable badge. Google does not guarantee metadata display in search. Use this technical preparation checklist with terms approved for your photographs. Example fields do not establish your authority to license an image. ## Select a public collection Choose several images intended for licensing inquiries. Exclude private client deliveries and work with unresolved rights. Record each image's public page, delivered file address, approved credit, and applicable terms page. Keep distinct versions identifiable. If a gallery uses thumbnails and larger files, ask which file its metadata describes. Require an image-specific mapping rather than assuming one policy applies to the whole website. Have the person responsible for licensing approve that mapping. Keep unresolved images outside the implementation until their details are settled. ## Separate the terms from the inquiry route Google's `license` property points to a page describing the license governing an image. Its `acquireLicensePage` points to information about obtaining a license. A general contact-information page can serve the latter purpose. Confirm it explains the relevant collection or image. Avoid selecting a footer page merely because its title includes copyright. For the inquiry, consider asking for the image reference, intended use, and reply details. Keep pricing and permission decisions with the studio. ## Give the developer exact file identities Google uses `contentUrl` to identify the actual image described by structured data. When using structured data, `license` is required for Licensable badge eligibility. Request the generated values for one image before extending the template. Compare them with the approved worksheet. Reject sample creator names or terms unrelated to that photograph. Google requires structured data for each page instance where an image appears. Embedded IPTC metadata is carried within the image file. Ask which method your workflow preserves. After export and website optimization, inspect the delivered result again. Require evidence from the actual publishing process rather than metadata in an unpublished original. ## Follow the licensing inquiry to receipt Open the license inquiry route on a phone. Confirm the visitor can still identify the photograph. If the form does not carry its reference, explain how to supply it. Arrange a controlled inquiry with the studio. Use an approved image and contact details you control. Save the submitted request and matching receipt. Keep an actual licensing decision outside this test. Accept the implementation when the delivered image, approved terms, metadata, and inquiry route agree. Record any search display observation separately.
