Record the gallery page and any image-file addresses involved. Keep those details in the studio's private support record. Google recommends password protection for confidential or private content. Its guidance distinguishes that protection from `noindex`, which controls search inclusion while leaving content reachable by visitors with the link. It does not establish that your gallery platform protects every file behind its login screen. ## Identify what the search result exposes Record whether the result leads to a gallery page, a photograph, a thumbnail, or another file. Save the exact address and observation date. Avoid reproducing private client names or photographs in public troubleshooting posts. Ask the maintainer to compare the result with the current gallery configuration. Keep an old search preview separate from what an unauthenticated visitor can access today. If the result concerns a different domain or outside gallery provider, identify the account owner and support contact. Do not assume the person editing your portfolio controls that host. ## Inspect the gallery and its files separately Arrange an authorized check without an active client or studio login. Ask the provider to test the gallery page and a representative original, preview, and thumbnail address. Require the intended access restriction for each private asset. Record a failed access check before asking the provider for a correction. Avoid accepting a hidden navigation link as proof of protection. ## Keep indexing controls in the right role For content approved to remain public but excluded from Google, the maintainer can evaluate `noindex`. Google must be able to crawl the page to see that rule. Blocking the page in `robots.txt` can prevent Google from reading it. Do not open private photographs to crawlers merely to let them read an indexing instruction. Have the maintainer choose a correction that preserves the studio's access requirements. Check the intended public portfolio separately. Give the maintainer exact gallery boundaries so a privacy repair does not become an unreviewed site-wide indexing change. ## Treat temporary search removal as a separate task Search Console's Removals tool can temporarily hide results from a property you own. Google says the tool does not remove content from the internet or provide permanent removal by itself. Ask the authorized property owner to review the affected addresses and any removal request. Keep the request's status separate from evidence that access protection has been repaired. Record whether the result remains visible after the technical correction. Leave search cleanup pending until its actual status is known. ## Accept privacy repair and client delivery together Repeat the unauthenticated page and file checks. Then confirm that an authorized test client can use the intended delivery route. Save results without copying private photographs into the website brief.
