If so, remove that address from your Google Business Profile. Google states this rule for service-area businesses. Use the profile's service area to describe where you work. [Google's service-area guidance, checked 2026.10.23](https://support.google.com/business/answer/9157481?hl=en). Before changing anything, record how your business operates. Then compare the profile with your website. The task is to describe your location accurately and give customers a clear contact route. ## Establish whether customers visit the location Ask the owner where customers receive service. Distinguish a home office, a staffed customer-facing office, and a mailing address. Keep those answers in a private business record. Google distinguishes service-area businesses from hybrid businesses that also serve customers at their address. A hybrid location needs permanent signage to qualify as a storefront. Check your actual arrangements. Leave an uncertain eligibility question open for the profile owner to resolve before an edit. ## Describe the coverage you can accept Have the office approve a list of places where it accepts new work. Separate general pest service from termite or commercial coverage if those boundaries differ. Google lets businesses define service areas using cities, postal codes, or other supported areas. Use the approved coverage list as your starting point. Avoid adding a town solely to appear in its searches. Identify where a home address appears. Give the owner the inventory before requesting removal. Hiding an address in the profile does not edit your website. Treat the website review as a separate task. Have the responsible reviewer check any business-address publication requirements before removing information elsewhere. Replace an unsupported “visit our office” instruction with the actual contact process. Retain the business name, working phone route, supported services, and clear coverage explanation. Keep home directions off a service-request page when customers should not arrive there. ## Verify the public destination after an edit Have the authorized profile owner make the agreed change. Save the approved coverage list and the observed public result separately. Keep a pending edit distinct from a completed public correction. Open the website destination from the public profile. Check that it describes the same business and does not invite visits to the hidden home office. Follow the contact link through to the intended receiving desk using an agreed, labeled test. Record the page, submitted test details, receiving person, and result. If delivery is unresolved, assign that problem separately from the address edit.
