Review the complete presentation rather than accepting a large number alone. Use the worksheet below to prepare an attorney review. No real case result or client identity is supplied or assessed here. ## Check the expectation the page creates ABA's comment on Model Rule 7.1 explains that truthful achievements can still mislead when they create unjustified expectations without case-specific context. It also discusses qualifying language. These are model materials; the firm must check its jurisdiction's current rules. Have the responsible attorney assess the number, headline, caption, image, and inquiry button together. Do not ask a builder to decide whether a generic disclaimer resolves the presentation. ## Build a source record before a case-result card | Result detail | What the firm should verify | | --- | --- | | Result type | Settlement, verdict, or another accurately described disposition | | Amount | Supported figure and whether it is aggregate, gross, or otherwise qualified | | Current status | Material later events that affect the public statement | | Firm's role | The work and attorneys the firm can accurately claim | | Public description | Approved factual context without unnecessary identifying details | | Permission | Attorney-confirmed authority to publish the stated information | | Required limits | Applicable jurisdictional wording and contextual disclosures | Obtain the record from authorized firm personnel. Keep source documents and permission records in the firm's controlled storage. The website handoff should contain the cleared public text and images only. Leave unsupported values UNRESOLVED in the internal worksheet. Do not estimate a net recovery or infer that an amount was collected because a verdict was entered. ## Preserve distinctions in the page design Use separate labels for settlement and verdict where those labels apply. Explain any aggregate figure in approved language. Avoid combining multiple matters into one apparent individual recovery. Ask the attorney whether fees, expenses, appeal status, allocation, or other context must accompany the statement. Do not invent a universal disclosure template. Keep the relevant explanation close to the result in the final layout. Review the mobile card and expanded page separately. A shortened card should not remove a qualification that the firm considers necessary. ## Check permissions independently from public availability Do not treat a searchable court entry or an old press release as automatic approval for your firm's current marketing use. Have the attorney confirm confidentiality, agreements, identity treatment, and other applicable restrictions. If the firm cannot obtain a supported public account, omit the result. Use verified descriptions of services and inquiry steps instead of reconstructing the matter from recollection. ## Define when a published result gets reviewed Assign an attorney owner to each result. Record the approved version, source date, and page locations. Reopen the review when a material fact or publication condition changes. Check homepage cards and practice-area excerpts as well as the main results page. Keep outdated or unsupported claims out of reused promotional copy.
