Review names, amounts, comments, and anonymous choices separately. Keep the private donor record distinct from the public recognition display. Donorbox's published donor-wall guidance describes choices for displaying a donation and comment, using a first name only, and hiding the donation amount. Use the following checklist for your organization's confirmed platform. It does not establish the preferences or permissions attached to an existing donor record. ## Define the public display before importing names Ask the giving team what the wall is intended to show. Record which campaigns, gift types, and recognition choices it covers. Keep a manually supplied donor list separate from choices collected through a donation form. Require a record supporting every proposed public detail. Do not use a private contact list as the publication source merely because the organization already holds it. For each display field, identify the approval source and maintainer. Keep unsupported recognition claims out of the public design. ## Inspect the choices a donor sees Have the platform administrator show the actual recognition controls in an agreed demonstration or test environment. Record the starting choices and available changes. Avoid assuming that another campaign uses the same configuration. Keep “not displayed publicly” separate from a claim that the organization collects no identity information. For another platform, inspect its current documentation and actual controls. Avoid copying Donorbox's behavior into instructions for an unverified system. ## Check every place the wall appears Inventory the hosted donation page, website embed, recognition page, and any manually maintained copy. Ask which display updates automatically and which requires an editor. For controlled sample records, compare a public name, a hidden amount, and an anonymous choice. Require the observed display to match the approved preference. Keep real donors and live gifts outside interface exploration. If a preference changes, identify which copies need an update. Record the person responsible for each one.
