Identify where requests are accepted, filtered, stored, and delivered to sales. Ask the provider for evidence of the actual controls before adding another visible challenge. Keep the repair focused on two outcomes: reject unwanted submissions under the agreed rules and preserve legitimate requests. A quieter inbox alone does not prove the form works. ## Map the existing submission path Ask the provider to identify the form endpoint, validation step, spam decision, and notification destination. Keep configuration values and secrets in the provider's approved system, outside the public writing brief. MDN explains that an HTML form configures an HTTP request carrying data to a server. It also explains why server-side validation remains necessary. Use this proposed evidence sheet: | Stage | Evidence to request | | --- | --- | | Submission | Actual endpoint and permitted request fields | | Validation | Server checks for required and allowed data | | Spam decision | Implemented rule and recorded outcome | | Storage | Where an accepted request is retained | | Notification | Delivery attempt and receiving destination | | Visitor feedback | Displayed result for success and failure | Do not copy full prospect messages into a public diagnostic report. Ask for redacted examples or synthetic test records. ## Verify any challenge at the server If the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, require the provider to demonstrate Siteverify validation. Cloudflare says the client-side widget alone does not protect the form. Its tokens are single-use. Have the provider test missing, invalid, and reused tokens in the agreed test environment. Require an accurate rejection and a usable next step for the visitor. Keep the secret key outside page code and public diagnostic material. For another protection system, use that system's current documentation. Do not transfer Turnstile behavior to a different product without checking it. ## Review the rules for ordinary buyers Ask sales which legitimate requests have been rejected or delayed, using permitted records. Check whether rules reject an optional field, a common business email arrangement, or a repeated correction from the same visitor. Do not remove all protection based on an anecdote. Ask the provider to identify the rule that made the decision and propose a bounded correction. Keep any rate-limit change under the implemented service's review process. Keep a rejected request from displaying a successful-sales-receipt message. Give visitors the approved alternative contact route when submission cannot complete. ## Require a small acceptance matrix Agree on controlled tests before the provider changes production. Use invented details and receiving addresses your team controls. Test a valid request, missing required data, a rejected challenge, a repeated submission, and an unavailable notification service. Have sales confirm which accepted requests arrive and whether the original question remains intact. Retain the expected result, observed result, relevant redacted event reference, and repair owner. Keep form acceptance separate from email delivery and from the later sales reply. ## Hand over the implemented rule record Ask the provider to document the final controls, configuration owner, review trigger, and recovery instruction. Avoid describing the site as spam-proof. Keep monitoring and ongoing maintenance responsibilities in the written scope.
