Inventory your seller pages, buyer guides, blog archive, photographs, downloads, and inquiry routes. Accept the replacement against that inventory and received test inquiries. Wix says its working websites must run on Wix servers. WordPress.com offers a Wix importer, but documents limited compatibility and separate work for blog posts and design. Choose the move when the replacement demonstrates the editing, IDX support, inquiry delivery, ownership, and speed your business needs. Require those demonstrations before authorizing a switch. ## Specify which WordPress destination you mean Ask your builder to name the destination service, host, editor, theme, and required connections. Resolve who handles updates, backups, and faults after handover. WordPress.com's documented Wix importer takes the source website URL through Tools → Import → Wix. It attempts to recover static pages, images, menus, and the site title. Its new theme does not reproduce the Wix design. For self-hosted WordPress, its documented Tools → Import options include RSS for posts and WordPress for a WordPress-format export. That documentation does not establish a complete Wix import. Request a small import demonstration in a separate preview. Require the builder to explain missing material before estimating the full move. If a plugin or migration service is proposed, ask for its current documentation, destination requirements, and a sample result. Mark its coverage unresolved until the sample supports it. ## Make a recovery inventory before importing Record each retained page's current address, source material, proposed destination, recovery method, and acceptance check. Include unpublished material you want to keep separately. Use this worksheet to assign the work. Review imported material and manually reconstructed pages together. Ask for a named owner and recovery decision beside every omission. ## Recover older blog posts beyond the RSS feed Wix currently does not provide blog-post export to other platforms. Its RSS feed displays up to 20 of the most recent posts. It does not provide category-specific feeds. Checked: 2026.10.14. Save the available feed as source material and compare its entries with the archive inventory. Require a separate method for every post outside that feed. Use approved original copy or manual recovery where appropriate. For each recovered post, compare its title, body, original publication details, author, images, captions, and internal links. Have the builder repair differences you did not approve. Check categories and inquiry buttons independently. Do not close the archive task because the RSS import completed. Require a reconciled list showing every intended post as recovered, rebuilt, or deliberately omitted with your approval. ## Recover CMS records and media as separate tasks If your site uses Wix CMS collections, Wix supports CSV export. Its options distinguish the entire collection, filtered data, and field names alone. Live and sandbox collections can require separate selection. Ask for the collection containing the approved live material. Inspect the exported columns and records before treating the file as complete. Have the builder map each required field into the proposed WordPress content structure. Treat reconstruction of the pages using those records as a separate acceptance task. Open a representative local page and compare its text, photograph, source links, and contact action with the approved source. Wix's Media Manager permits downloading uploaded images and videos. Its documentation excludes free Wix and Shutterstock media from downloading. It permits selecting multiple files within a folder, rather than downloading every media folder in one action. Resolve reuse permission for any supplied or licensed image. Replace unavailable material with imagery you have permission to use. Require evidence that needed images are stored at the agreed destination. Inspect their file addresses and the pages using them. Mark any required photograph still served only from Wix as unresolved. Recover seller-guide and buyer-guide downloads separately. Open each replacement file and check its page link. Compare captions and alternative text with the approved material. A visible photograph alone does not satisfy the proposed storage check. ## Rebuild the functions that receive inquiries Put the seller form, buyer request, property-specific question, and any required contact-system connection in the reconstruction scope. Ask the builder to show how each replacement works. Do not assume imported content establishes a working form or listing integration. Obtain confirmation from your IDX provider for the actual WordPress destination, MLS, required permissions, and functions. Use contact details you control. Test the seller-service page and buyer route independently on phone and desktop. Inspect the received message and confirm its reply details, question, page or property context, and destination. If a contact-system record is required, inspect that record separately. Retain the receipt beside the visitor confirmation. If historical inquiries must be retained, ask the current service and receiving system to define their export and import coverage. Keep this move's evidence focused on recovered Wix material and reconstructed functions. Google recommends an old-to-new URL map and permanent redirects for changed URLs. Verify the destination of each changed address and links within the recovered content.
