Keep the badge beside an accurate explanation. Remove wording that implies government approval without a source. HHS says it does not endorse or recognize private organizations' Security Rule certifications. Its FAQ also says outside certification does not remove a covered entity's obligations. Have your responsible reviewer assess its relevance to your company's exact statement and role. ## Inventory every place the badge appears Collect the homepage, footer, service pages, proposal downloads, and social preview images. Copy the exact claim from each. Include nearby headings and button text in the review. Classify each item as a training certificate, external assessment, contractual statement, or claim about current operations. Do not let a staff training record become a claim about the whole company. Withhold the public claim until the reviewer resolves it. ## Explain the company's actual role HHS includes billing among business-associate activities when performed for a covered entity and involving protected health information. Its guidance describes business-associate agreements and direct responsibilities under certain HIPAA provisions. Ask your privacy or legal reviewer to approve how the website describes your role. Keep the public explanation at service level. Leave agreements, system details, and evidence containing confidential information in the controlled review process. Avoid treating a certificate, agreement template, or website padlock as interchangeable evidence. Request the document supporting the specific sentence you want to publish. ## Rewrite unsupported badges into checked facts If the evidence establishes only completed training, describe that training accurately after approval. If an assessment covers one system, keep that scope visible. Do not broaden its conclusion to every service or subcontractor. When no publishable statement is supported, remove the badge. Explain the approved business inquiry and onboarding steps instead. A missing badge does not require an invented replacement credential.
