Keep the underlying records, the calculation, and publication approval with the content source. Remove a result that cannot be reconstructed. Start with the work your company performed. Separate that work from changes made by the practice, payer, or another provider. ## Define the measure before writing the headline The FTC says advertisers need evidence for express and implied claims. Its guidance evaluates the message conveyed by the advertisement as a whole. Use that principle when reviewing a case-study title, chart, and summary card. A careful footnote should not be used to excuse a broader unsupported headline. These are editorial review criteria, not an evaluation of a particular company's advertising. For a proposed percentage, identify the numerator, denominator, period, exclusions, and data source. For a duration, identify the starting and ending events. Keep definitions unchanged across comparisons or explain the break. ## Build an evidence sheet for each result | Evidence item | Question to resolve | |---|---| | Work performed | Which tasks did your company control? | | Starting period | Which records and dates establish the baseline? | | Comparison period | Is the later measurement defined the same way? | | Included population | Which accounts or claims entered the calculation? | | Exclusions | What was removed and why? | | Other changes | Did staffing, payer mix, or the practice process change? | | Publication scope | Which details may appear publicly? | Treat missing evidence as unresolved. Do not replace an unavailable baseline with the account lead's recollection. Keep private records out of the public website brief. ## Explain association without inventing causation Describe the documented sequence and your role. Avoid claiming your service caused the full change when the records establish only that it occurred during the engagement. Ask the account owner to identify other known changes that affect interpretation. If results cannot be published, write a clearly labeled process example. Show the service steps and review boundaries without attaching an invented customer outcome. Do not present synthetic data as a completed engagement. ## Review charts and excerpts together Require each graphic to carry the measure, period, and relevant limitation. Check whether a cropped chart or social preview changes the meaning. Remove unsupported annualized projections or universal promises from summary cards. Obtain approval for the exact public material. Keep names, quotes, logos, and confidential business details out unless the responsible parties have cleared that use. A designer should not infer permission from a file's presence in a shared folder. ## Accept the page against the evidence Have someone who did not draft the case reproduce its calculation from the permitted records. Compare the title, body, chart, and call to action with that result. Save their findings and the approved version. Assign the account lead to review corrections when source data changes.
