Identify the unit for every value. Have the technical owner approve any secondary-unit display, rounding, and reference labels. NIST states that the standard inch is exactly equivalent to 25.4 millimeters. That conversion fact supplies a unit relationship. Use the brief below for public buying information. Keep engineering acceptance, drawing interpretation, and product suitability with their authorized reviewers. ## Identify the source for each table Ask the product or technical owner to name the current approved record. Confirm the product reference, variant, revision where applicable, dimension name, value, and unit. Resolve conflicts between a catalog, drawing, and website before publishing a corrected number. Do not select whichever value is easiest to fit into the table. Keep the source and approval record internally. Publish the documentation reference only when it is approved for public use. Keep private customer drawings out of that record's public links. ## Decide what the secondary unit represents Have the technical owner choose whether the page displays a controlling value, an approximate reference conversion, or separately specified dimensions. Give the responsible technical reviewer the exact proposed presentation. ## Put units into the visible page Use headings that identify units unambiguously. Repeat units where needed in downloaded or copied information. Avoid a bare number in a selector or inquiry summary. Prefer an honest unavailable state over a guessed conversion. Review phone layouts for detached headings and clipped notes. Preserve their original entry for technical review. Do not silently treat a measurement as a confirmed specification. Avoid a form that requires a buyer to choose an engineering interpretation to reach your team. ## Test against approved examples Ask the technical owner for representative products and their expected public display.
