Plan the complete path: customer question, relevant page, contact action, receipt, and staff response. Use completion evidence for that path before discussing growth targets. The checklist below defines a proposed website scope. It does not forecast how many inquiries a site will produce. ## Define which inquiries the business accepts Ask the owner and receiving staff to describe a useful first conversation. Record the service, area served, customer type, and information needed to decide the next step. Keep an inquiry separate from a booking or accepted project. If staff must review availability or scope, make the page and confirmation say so. Avoid labels that imply a confirmed appointment before one exists. Write a short acceptance statement: “The office receives the visitor's question, selected service, source page, and reply method.” Adjust it to the actual business. Use that statement to judge the form and its delivery. ## Assign each customer question to a page Create a page map before commissioning a redesign. A proposed starting point is a name, reply method, service choice, approximate location, and question. Remove any field without a clear purpose. Avoid making people diagnose a technical problem before they can contact qualified staff. Ask the builder to document where submissions go and who can access them. Keep payment information and sensitive documents outside an ordinary first-contact form unless a separately defined process needs them. ## Make success and failure understandable Specify the exact confirmation. If the form only receives a request, confirm that request. State the next review step using wording the office has approved. Use your own sample details. Submit from the pages included in the scope. Compare the received record with the original submission. Check the question, source page, contact information, and attachments where supported. Confirm the office can use the intended reply route. Record the test date, result, and remaining faults.
