Inventory page addresses, page titles, event names, and event values around the contact path. Keep the contact record in the firm's approved intake system. For measurement, start with generic events that describe the action without copying the visitor's answers. ## Inspect the information being sent Google Analytics policy excludes information it can recognize as personally identifiable. Its guidance names email addresses and personal phone numbers. It also warns about identifiers in page URLs, titles, form input, and measurement fields. A tag name or dashboard label is insufficient evidence of what the service receives. Use this proposed review sheet: | Data surface | What to inspect | | --- | --- | | Page address | Path and query parameters after form submission | | Page title | Whether a submitted value enters the title | | Form event | Event name and every attached parameter | | Site search | User-entered search terms and collection settings | | Campaign tags | Whether any label identifies a person or matter | | Other services | Tag destinations beyond the analytics account | Do not insert names, callback numbers, case identifiers, or narratives into a measurement label. Have the firm's reviewer decide what generic service categories, if any, are appropriate. ## Review the legal data boundary separately ABA Model Rule 1.6 includes a duty to make reasonable efforts against unauthorized disclosure or access to information about representation. It is a model rule. The firm must assess its jurisdiction's requirements and the proposed recipients. Keep platform policy and professional review as separate checks. Passing one does not establish that the firm's complete data-handling process is approved. Ask the attorney to approve the collection purpose, recipients, and public explanation. Give contractors synthetic records for configuration and testing. ## Test with recognizable fictional values Arrange a controlled test in an agreed environment. Use a unique synthetic name and contact details you control. Ask the maintainer to inspect outgoing measurement requests and the receiving report. Search those observations for the test values. Check URLs and page titles as well as form events. Keep the evidence within the approved review group. Require the intended inquiry to reach staff separately. An analytics event does not establish that intake received a usable request. Do not expand data collection merely to make those two records easier to match. ## Record the accepted event design For each approved event, retain its purpose, name, allowed parameters, recipient service, and review owner. Mark an unverified destination unresolved until someone can demonstrate it. Recheck the design when a form, tag, calendar, or analytics integration changes.
