IDX Broker documents pages, wrappers, and widgets, with specific Wix limitations. Use this proposed acceptance worksheet with your website provider. It is not evidence that your account, MLS feed, or website has passed. Provider behavior below follows the cited documentation; the inspection plan is editorial guidance. ## Can IDX Broker connect to a Wix website? IDX Broker documents integration through its pages and widgets. Ask the provider to name the exact method in the proposal. Include the Wix editor, IDX account, desired search experience, and public website destination. ## Should you choose a wrapper or an iframe? Ask for a demonstration of each supported option against your actual design. A wrapper supplies surrounding site presentation; an iframe displays another page inside the Wix page. Keep the selected method in the scope. ## Why might a dynamic wrapper fail? IDX Broker attributes Wix wrapper limitations to its dynamic page rendering and notes theme-dependent compatibility. Avoid paying for a general redesign before the connection method has been diagnosed. ## What if a Wix wrapper cannot be made to work? Request a supported alternative and its maintenance terms. IDX Broker’s guide points to an includes-based wrapper approach, developer assistance, or iframing. Have the provider explain who hosts and maintains any additional component before accepting it. ## Where does an external page go in Wix Editor? Wix documents Add Elements, Embed Code, Popular Embeds, and Embed a site for an external URL. [Wix’s embed instructions, checked 2026.10.22](https://support.wix.com/en/article/wix-editor-embedding-a-site-or-a-widget). Ask your builder to use your approved IDX page address. Keep a record of the source page and its intended purpose. ## How does a widget differ from embedding a page? A widget uses the code supplied for that widget; a page embed uses the approved page URL. Name the chosen option and source in the handoff so another maintainer can identify it. ## Will every IDX Broker widget work in Wix? Do not assume universal compatibility. IDX Broker warns that its New widgets and Map Search widget may not operate as intended in Wix’s framed code blocks. Request proof for each proposed widget before adding it to the agreed deliverables. ## Can Wix display an insecure embed URL? Wix says embedded codes and URLs must use HTTPS. [Wix’s embed requirements, checked 2026.10.22](https://support.wix.com/en/article/wix-editor-embedding-a-site-or-a-widget). Give the provider the secure source address. If a connection fails, ask for the actual failing request and its source before replacing a working website page. ## Can a blocked external page be forced into Wix? Wix says the source site can prohibit embedding, and that its editor cannot bypass that restriction. Treat a security restriction as a connection decision requiring provider confirmation. ## Does the embed automatically fit a phone? Inspect it on the finished page. Wix warns that framed content is not automatically responsive merely because the original source is responsive. Include the keyboard-open form, filters, property details, and bottom controls in your acceptance checks. ## What should the search-results check include? Choose permitted test searches that exercise the agreed filters. Compare the displayed listings with the authorized source and account scope. Record missing results without assuming a Wix defect. Ask the IDX provider to distinguish feed coverage, saved-search settings, and rendering problems. ## What should happen when someone opens a listing? Agree whether it opens within the current page or in another tab. IDX Broker notes that widget links can open unwrapped IDX pages. Inspect the actual transition and the route back to your main website. ## How should you inspect branding across that transition? Compare the search page, property page, saved-search screen, and contact form. Confirm approved identity details and a usable contact route on each. Ask the responsible business reviewer to approve required disclosures. A matching header alone should not close the inspection. ## Can the Wix page promise search visibility? Require evidence before accepting a search-performance claim. Inspect the actual public page and ask which content search systems can retrieve. Do not treat the IDX preview inside the editor as proof of indexing, rankings, or visitors. Keep those outcomes outside installation acceptance. ## What account access belongs in the handoff? Record the account owner, support responsibility, approved domains, and method for granting maintenance access. Keep credentials in the approved access system. Ask the provider to document the integration without pasting private keys into page content, screenshots, or the public project brief. ## What should a buyer inquiry retain? Ask the form to preserve the buyer’s question, preferred reply method, and relevant listing reference. Identify the intended recipient before testing. Arrange a labeled submission using details you control. Inspect the received record rather than marking the job complete at a success message. ## Should seller inquiries depend on the search embed? Plan an independent seller contact route on your own service page. Test that route when the search component is unavailable. This is a proposed design choice. It lets the business inspect seller inquiry delivery separately from the property-search integration. ## How should cookies and outside services be reviewed? List the embedded source, contact records, and analytics connections for the responsible privacy reviewer. Ask what loads before interaction and what records remain with each provider. Keep any legal conclusion with that reviewer. The integration worksheet describes observed behavior and ownership. ## What belongs in the rollback plan? Save the prior page configuration and the approved direct destination before making a change. Define who can restore them and which inquiry checks must run afterward. A rollback should leave the visitor a clear route to the promised service while the defect is investigated. ## What should you send for a repair estimate? Send the Wix page address, selected integration method, IDX destination, failed checks, and expected recipient. Include the provider’s unresolved limitations.
