Keep a technician certification, company license, and manufacturer designation in separate entries. Publish only the wording your records support. A row of logos is not enough for an editorial review. Start with the issuing document or current issuer record and a person responsible for keeping it accurate. ## Inventory claims wherever they appear Check the homepage, footer, about page, service pages, images, and downloadable material. Copy exact phrases such as “licensed,” “certified,” “authorized,” and “EPA certified” into the review sheet. For each phrase, ask which document supports it. Do not infer a company's license from an employee's training certificate or a manufacturer's relationship from equipment the company services. The FTC requires evidence supporting advertising claims. Record unsupported wording as unresolved and remove it from the proposed publication until checked. ## Describe Section 608 precisely EPA's Section 608 program has equipment-specific certification types, including Universal. EPA states that Section 608 credentials do not expire. Use the technician's actual certification type when the page needs that detail. Do not apply a generic annual-expiry field to this credential merely because other records have renewal dates. Keep the individual's qualification distinct from a company-wide claim. Ask the credential owner which technicians and work the proposed wording describes. This article does not determine which certification a particular job requires. Have the responsible technical person resolve that question from the current EPA rules and the actual work. ## Check licenses and manufacturer claims separately Use the relevant licensing authority's current record for a license claim. Confirm the exact business or individual name and any scope that needs to appear. Do not assume requirements are identical across states or trades. For a manufacturer designation, confirm the issuer, holder, location, current status, and permission to use the artwork. Use the exact designation rather than upgrading it to a broader title. If the public directory and your internal document disagree, ask the issuer or responsible office to resolve it. Do not select the version that produces stronger copy. Provide the editor only the approved facts and public links needed for the page. Add a review trigger for staffing changes, license changes, and program changes. Keep the source owner responsible for facts and the website editor responsible for updating every appearance. ## Test verification and the customer route Open any public verification link without a management login. Confirm it identifies the intended holder. If it does not resolve, leave online verification open rather than claiming success. Read the final page as a customer. Can someone tell what the qualification means and which work they can ask about? Remove any unsupported guarantee about repair quality, safety, or system performance. Keep a relevant service request beside the explanation. Test its destination using a labelled inquiry and details you control.
