Treat a missing review as an observation to investigate, not proof that a tool can restore it or identify a fake reviewer. Use this manual checking method before buying review-monitoring software. The worksheet is a recommendation, not a claim about a particular vendor's access. ## Confirm the business record before counting reviews Open the public listing your customers use. Compare its name, location arrangement, phone, and website destination with your approved business facts. Record the exact public URL and check date. Avoid changing several business records while trying to investigate one missing review. ## Distinguish a delay from a confirmed policy issue Google says review checks can delay publication and profile merges can also affect when reviews appear. It also identifies policy violations as a reason for removal. Those are possible explanations, not a diagnosis of your case. Do not label a customer dishonest because their review is not visible on your screen. For suspected policy violations, compare the actual content with the policy. Google permits reporting reviews that violate its rules and says disagreement alone is not a removal reason.
