Confirm which contact method the office supports today. Update the website and test the replacement route. Google says its Business Profile chat and call history features ended on July 31, 2024. The help page also describes text-message or WhatsApp contact options for eligible accounts. Do not assume that those options are available to your business. Inspect contact pages, footers, help articles, and appointment instructions. Record the exact page and wording before changing it. Ask the office which instructions customers still quote when requesting help. Identify who receives requests and what happens outside staffed hours. Decide which website pages should use that route. Google confirms that people can still find and contact a business through Search and Maps after the old chat change. Its help page points to website links and other profile information. Follow the revised website route, submit only approved sample information, and ask the office to confirm receipt. Record the destination and next responsible person.
