Then test a complete buyer or seller inquiry. Zoho documents “Error for site owner: Invalid domain for site key” when the configured key pair does not have the form domain enabled. Give the repair to the person maintaining your website and the owner of its CAPTCHA configuration. Use the checks below as a proposed repair brief. Keep the issue open until the intended recipient finds the matching inquiry. ## Identify the failing page and the key it uses Start with the exact seller, buyer, or property page where the problem appears. Save its address, the displayed error, the time, and a screenshot without private visitor information. Ask the maintainer to record the form provider, installed version where applicable, CAPTCHA integration, and account owner. Request the public site key used by that page. Have them compare it with the key selected in the management console. Google's Admin Console exposes the site key, secret key, and configuration. Keep the secret out of the repair worksheet and shared screenshots. Google advises against putting a legacy secret key on the frontend, where visitors can see it. Use this proposed inventory before changing settings: | Inquiry route | Evidence to request | | --- | --- | | Seller-service form | Public page address, actual form hostname, key identity, and intended recipient | | Buyer or property form | Separate configuration and any submitted property reference | | Embedded form | Provider-confirmed hostname where CAPTCHA runs and the provider's current setup instructions | | Staging or preview page | Environment identity and its separate testing configuration | If another company controls the embedded form, send it the failing page and evidence. Require confirmation of the relevant domain before adding anything to the key's allowed list. ## Correct the domain list for the actual form Google restricts a registration to its entered domains and their subdomains. A registered parent domain covers its subdomains. Domain entries must omit paths, ports, query strings, and fragments. Have the authorized maintainer open the matched key's settings and compare the domain list with the recorded form hostname. Add the approved missing domain or correct the form's key assignment. Save the change and its time. Do not automatically add every hostname visible in a page's source. Ask the provider which hostname its integration requires. Keep an unrelated property-search service separate from the form you control. Google's current Cloud documentation also confirms that registering a domain covers its subdomains. Changes to the domain list can take up to **30 minutes**. Allow that documented interval before judging the saved domain change. If it still fails, ask the maintainer to confirm that the page uses the key they edited. Record the remaining failure before making another change. ## Check key compatibility before replacing credentials Request the form provider's instructions for the exact supported reCAPTCHA type. WPForms provides a documented example. Its configuration has a reCAPTCHA type selector plus Site Key and Secret Key fields. Different types require different key sets. For another tool, require its own dated documentation. Do not apply WPForms controls to an unrelated platform. Keep a domain restriction separate from an invalid credential. Google's troubleshooting guide says an **Invalid site key** error means the key is no longer valid and directs developers to create and install a new key. Require a documented reason for replacing a key rather than assuming every CAPTCHA failure has the same cause. ## Preserve domain verification and separate test environments Leave domain validation enabled for this repair. Google warns that disabling it permits other sites to use the key. If validation is disabled, the server must check the returned hostname and reject unexpected origins. Ask the maintainer to document the verification setting before and after the repair. Do not accept the disappearance of a warning as the acceptance result. Require a separate test on the public buyer or seller page with its production configuration. ## Verify the server result and the received inquiry separately For an integration using Google's `siteverify` endpoint, the backend verifies the response token. The documented response includes success and hostname fields, with error codes when applicable. Require evidence from that method without exposing credentials. Compare it with the received message. Have the recipient find the inquiry in their normal working view. If verification passes but the inquiry is missing, record delivery as unresolved. These tests document the observed result; they promise no future inquiry, conversion, or response result. ## Review visitor data and preserve the repair record A CAPTCHA or form tool may process visitor data. Ask the maintainer to identify the actual form provider, CAPTCHA provider, and receiving destinations. Have the responsible privacy reviewer inspect their current documentation and your public notice.
