Collect the quotation, its source, any compensation arrangement, and the proposed disclosure before choosing a review widget. The SEC marketing rule permits testimonials and endorsements subject to conditions. Its guide describes disclosure, oversight, and disqualification provisions. Use the workflow below to prepare website work for review. Your compliance reviewer must determine the rules applicable to your practice and the proposed use. ## Define the material you want to publish Inventory every planned placement: a homepage quotation, a rotating review panel, a testimonial video, or a link to an outside review page. Record whether you select, edit, import, or automatically refresh the material. Keep each placement in the review packet. Approval for a static quotation should identify that quotation and layout. Ask separately how future widget updates will be checked. Do not invent a client story to fill an empty section. Use an explanation of your approved service process when testimonial material is unavailable for review. ## Collect the review facts before choosing a widget Prepare this worksheet for the person approving the advertisement. It also describes adviser oversight and written-agreement requirements with exceptions. Have the reviewer resolve those conditions for each proposed use. A vendor offering a review widget does not establish that the proposed advertisement has passed your review. ## Review the quotation together with its surroundings Supply the headline, adjacent claims, call to action, and proposed disclosure placement. Include the narrow-screen layout and any expanded review view. Ask the reviewer whether editing, truncation, or selection changes the impression of the original statement. Keep performance claims out unless separately approved with their supporting material. Check the first visible review, later carousel items, mobile layout, and the page with the widget unavailable. Test links and controls with a keyboard. Verify that a refreshed review cannot silently replace the approved quotation under your chosen publishing process. If that control is unproven, use a reviewed static placement for the initial scope.
