Identify the issuing authority, named entity, relevant scope, and date checked. Remove a broad assurance that the available evidence cannot support. Start with a claim sheet for the person responsible for your business records. Keep the supporting documents private unless their publication has been approved. This is a website verification method. Display requirements and legal wording need the current authority and reviewer for your jurisdiction. ## Copy the claims exactly before reviewing them Collect every statement about licensing, insurance, bonding, registration, certifications, and approvals. Include the footer, service pages, project pages, badges, and downloadable proposals you publish. Copy each statement into a review sheet with its page address. Record who supplied it and which document supposedly supports it. Keep similar terms in separate rows until the responsible person confirms their meaning. It supports searches by license number, business name, and personnel name, and describes complaint disclosure among the available information. For another jurisdiction, identify the correct regulator before choosing a lookup link or describing what it establishes. Match the record to the website's actual business identity. Ask the responsible reviewer to resolve name differences, classifications, status, and any limits relevant to the proposed wording. Keep the check date in your private claim sheet. ## Review insurance wording with the record owner Ask the person responsible for insurance to obtain current supporting information from the appropriate insurer or broker. Have that reviewer approve the exact public statement and its scope. Do not let a website editor infer coverage from a logo, an old certificate, or a subcontractor's record. Keep the named insured, relevant activity, and approved dates attached to the internal review. Treat “fully insured” as a claim requiring clarification. Do not imply that a link to a regulator means the regulator endorses your company. Ask the site maintainer to test the link on a phone. Require the displayed business name and identifier to match the approved claim sheet. Keep documents containing private information outside the public page unless reviewed for publication. ## Set a correction owner and trigger Assign someone to update public claims after a relevant renewal, business-name change, scope change, or notice from the record owner. Keep that responsibility with the business rather than leaving it implicit in website maintenance. After a correction, search your own site for the old wording.
