# How to cancel Real Geeks and protect your website inquiries

To cancel Real Geeks, the site owner must contact Support through a ticket, email, or phone. Real Geeks publishes those routes in its [cancellation instructions](https://support.realgeeks.com/how-to-cancel-my-account-or-subscription).

Before setting the shutdown date, prepare three handoffs: the domain, the contact records you may retain, and the replacement website's inquiry path. Ask Support to confirm the final charges and when each service ends. Test the replacement before the agreed cutoff.

Treat keeping existing contacts and receiving future inquiries as separate requirements. Use the sequence below to brief Support, your brokerage, and the person building the replacement. The checks are recommendations, rather than a promise of uninterrupted inquiries or search visibility.

## Confirm what you are cancelling and when billing ends

Find your order confirmation and the current subscription record. Real Geeks says the initial term appears in the order confirmation. Afterward, subscriptions renew month to month until cancelled. Renewal cancellation takes effect at the end of the current renewal term. [Real Geeks cancellation policy](https://support.realgeeks.com/how-to-cancel-my-account-or-subscription).

Its billing guide directs authorized users to **Billing → Upcoming Billing Summary** at `accounts.realgeeks.com`. The guide separates the Base Platform from optional marketing packages and add-ons. [Real Geeks billing guide](https://support.realgeeks.com/real-geeks-billing).

List each service you want ended or retained. Ask for an itemized answer covering the website, CRM, marketing packages, add-ons, and any separate feed charges. Distinguish the request date, service cutoff, and final billing date.

For early cancellation, the support page describes a buyout of two full monthly payments or remaining initial-term fees. The published terms describe two full monthly payments. Request an account-specific calculation and its basis before choosing an early exit. [Support policy](https://support.realgeeks.com/how-to-cancel-my-account-or-subscription), [published terms, termination section](https://www.realgeeks.com/terms-of-service).

Keep the reply with your order and invoices. Leave the amount unresolved until Support confirms it. Avoid replacing your own contract details with a price or commitment found in a general review.

## Arrange the domain handoff before the cutoff

First establish who registered your domain. Real Geeks says it remains the registered owner of domains it purchases for customers. That situation needs a transfer request. [Real Geeks domain guide](https://support.realgeeks.com/real-geeks-domains).

For a Real Geeks-purchased domain, the guide requires a request from the platform owner while the platform is active or within 30 days of cancellation. It also requires an account in good standing, an applicable transfer fee, and a domain registered for at least 60 days. [Transfer requirements](https://support.realgeeks.com/real-geeks-domains).

The documented route transfers the domain into your GoDaddy account. Other registrars may require additional steps and confirmation from Support. If the domain is too new, Real Geeks says it will hold it until eligible, provided you requested transfer within the cancellation window. [Domain transfer process](https://support.realgeeks.com/real-geeks-domains).

Start that conversation before cancellation is processed. Ask for the transfer fee, receiving-account requirements, and expected sequence. Record who will maintain registration, renewal, and DNS afterward.

If you registered the domain yourself, inspect your registrar access and renewal details. Ask the builder to document the current website and email settings before changing them. Include an email-send and email-receive check in the switch plan.

Keep domain control, website hosting, and email delivery as separate checklist rows. Require evidence for each before calling the handoff complete.

## Export permitted contacts and inspect what the file contains

Real Geeks provides a CSV lead export controlled by the Site Owner or Admin. If the Export button is missing, request the necessary permission. [Lead export instructions](https://support.realgeeks.com/exporting-leads).

With permission enabled, follow the documented sequence:

1. Open the **Leads** tab.
2. Click **Export**, then choose **CSV**.
3. Choose **All leads**, **Filtered leads**, or **Selected leads** for the authorized scope.
4. Confirm the request and download the file through the emailed link.

These controls and delivery method come from the [Real Geeks export guide](https://support.realgeeks.com/exporting-leads).

Open the downloaded file while you still have account access. Compare its record count with your intended selection. Inspect representative records for names, contact details, source, assignment, notes, and status. Ask the account owner to resolve missing or unexpected records.

The guide says an export may include contact information, source, important notes, saved-search count, last communication date, and other fields. It explicitly excludes full activity history. [Export contents and limits](https://support.realgeeks.com/exporting-leads).

Check saved-search definitions, property activity, conversations, consent records, and opt-out information separately. Ask what can be supplied and in which format. Do not treat a saved-search count as a working property alert in another system.

Before transferring real contacts, confirm your authority with the account owner and brokerage. Give the receiving system's administrator a field map and a small authorized sample. Require a review of duplicates, assignments, contact details, and exclusions before accepting the larger import.

Request a final export before the agreed CRM cutoff. Save it in your approved business storage. Keep private buyer and seller records out of the website brief.

## Prepare the pages and listing functions you need afterward

Real Geeks' terms reserve ownership of its platform, design, and code to Real Geeks. They distinguish those assets from customer-supplied content. A contact export does not establish a portable website. [Published terms, proprietary rights section](https://www.realgeeks.com/terms-of-service).

Ask for a written list of content and files available for your handoff. Identify approved biographies, seller-service copy, local guides, images, downloads, and page addresses. Confirm permission to reuse each item. Have the new builder identify anything requiring recreation.

Write down which listing functions your replacement needs. Include property search, listing pages, showing requests, valuation requests, and alerts only where you intend to provide them. Ask Support when each current function ends. Confirm the replacement feed, permissions, costs, and maintenance with the responsible provider before accepting it.

For pages whose addresses change, Google recommends mapping old URLs to new destinations and setting up redirects. It also warns that rankings may fluctuate during recrawling and reindexing. [Google's site-move guidance](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/site-move-with-url-changes).

Build an address list for the pages you intend to retain. Ask the builder to preserve an existing path where appropriate. For a changed path, require a tested redirect to the corresponding answer. Record where the redirect will run after Real Geeks access ends.

## Prove that a seller or buyer can still reach you

Set an acceptance check for each contact route before the replacement goes live. Name the receiving inbox or contact system and the person responsible for replies. Specify which page and property reference should arrive with the message.

Use the following test plan with details you control. Label every submission as a test.

| Route to test | Action | Evidence to require |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Seller service page | Submit a question about selling | Received question, reply details, page reference, and assigned recipient |
| Buyer or property page | Send a property question or showing request | Property reference and message received at the intended destination |
| General contact page | Submit from a phone with the keyboard open | Usable fields, submission result, and matching inbox receipt |
| Phone and email links | Inspect the destination before calling or sending | Correct number or recipient |
| Retained page addresses | Open each old address after the switch | Intended page or tested corresponding redirect |
| Listing search, if required | Open results, a property, and its inquiry route | Agreed display behavior and receipt of the test inquiry |

Run the form checks on both phone and desktop. Inspect the received fields and reply path. Keep the website's confirmation and the inbox receipt together. Investigate a missing receipt before accepting delivery.

Ask whoever maintains current alerts and automated replies to document their cutoff. Agree how pending inquiries will be handled during the switch. Inspect for duplicate messages or an inquiry still arriving in a system scheduled to close.

## Have the site owner submit a clear cancellation request

Real Geeks lists `support@realgeeks.com`, a Support ticket, or `844-311-4969 ext 1` as cancellation routes. The request must come from the site owner. [Cancellation contacts](https://support.realgeeks.com/how-to-cancel-my-account-or-subscription).

Use a request that names the account's domain and the services being cancelled. Ask Support to confirm the effective date, final charges, website cutoff, CRM access deadline, and domain-transfer status. If timing depends on an unfinished transfer, request a workable sequence before agreeing to shutdown.

Save the submitted request and written confirmation. Recheck the replacement website, inquiry receipts, domain access, and remaining charges after the confirmed cutoff. Keep a failed check open with a named person responsible for resolving it.

## Scope the replacement website around the handoff

Your Real Geeks exit brief identifies retained pages, domain arrangements, and replacement inquiry destinations. Scope those requirements through [whole website fix: Real Geeks departure](/for/real-estate). Client-owned hosting starts with the whole website fix.
