Give the website editor approved attribution alongside the photographs. For work completed at a former firm, describe the individual's contribution and its relationship to that firm. Keep that experience distinct from projects commissioned from the current studio. ## Check the attribution guidance against the project AIA's member guidance applies to website representations of work. A member claiming a role other than architect of record should define that role and acknowledge the architect of record. It also calls for obvious, legible attribution. Use the guidance to start the review with the responsible architect. Resolve disputed roles and publication permissions before giving the page to the designer. Do not ask a website editor to infer responsibility from an image folder. Keep attribution and permission as separate entries. A credit line records who did the work. Obtain the approval needed for the material you plan to publish. ## Prepare a record for each project Use this proposed worksheet for the project lead's review: | Field | Answer to obtain | | --- | --- | | Project identity | Approved public title and location detail | | Commissioned practice | Firm responsible for the project engagement | | Architect of record | Confirmed entity and approved attribution | | Individual contribution | Specific work performed by the named team member | | Current studio contribution | Work performed by the present practice, if any | | Images and drawings | Approved files, credits, and permission record | | Publication limits | Details or material excluded from the website | Record unresolved items in the internal worksheet. Leave the project unpublished until the responsible person settles them. Avoid filling an uncertain role with an impressive but unsupported title. ## Write the project introduction around the contribution Lead with the project type and the contribution the page demonstrates. Explain whether the work belongs to the current studio or a team member's prior experience. Use the same approved role in the project introduction, gallery captions, biography, and portfolio listing. Review short card descriptions as carefully as the full page. Keep an accurate detailed page from being undermined by a broader claim on the homepage. Separate design proposals, work in progress, and completed construction. Ask the project lead to approve the status wording. Supply only publication details the practice can support. ## Check credits in the finished layout Require the builder to show the credit text on a phone and desktop preview. Check its size, contrast, placement, and visibility beside the project explanation. Open image enlargements and any downloadable project sheet. Check whether each version carries the approved attribution. Review captions after a crop or image replacement. Keep the approved credit text with the source images. Require another review when the project moves into a new page, award entry, or downloadable brochure.
