To keep a new inquiry from waiting unclaimed, set an owner and a response window before it arrives. A speed to lead function records when the inquiry lands and alerts the person responsible for the first touch. [Send your brief](/work#send-your-brief) ## Measure the first touch. Speed to lead is the elapsed time between an inquiry arriving and the first response attempt. Keep those timestamps separate from the time an alert was sent. An internal notification is not a buyer response. Choose the response window in the written scope. Business hours and after-hours inquiries can use different rules. The system records exceptions for the owner to review. ## Give the alert a destination. The lead routing rule selects the owner before the alert runs. The alert includes a link to the inquiry and its response deadline. It contains only the information the assigned person needs. If the owner does not claim the lead within the agreed window, the reassignment rule runs. A missing eligible owner sends the inquiry to the fallback owner. It must not disappear into an unattended queue. ## Keep the response in your record. We work with all popular CRMs. Before building, the scope confirms how the CRM records the first touch. A manual call needs a recorded outcome if the system cannot observe it. The report shows inquiry time beside first touch time. An unknown response time stays unknown. The acceptance check tests a duplicate inquiry so it cannot create another alert for the same event. ## Set the boundary for messages. An alert to your people is separate from a message to a buyer. Any reply draft uses approved business facts. A person reviews the draft before it sends. The function keeps a run history your business can inspect. It records the assignment decision and any reassignment. Your people use that history to correct the rule. ## Test the response window. This is a test layout for the written scope. It describes expected behavior, without claiming a customer result. Acceptance checks for this function. Test condition Expected record New inquiry arrives. Arrival timestamp and assigned owner. Owner records a first touch. Response timestamp linked to the inquiry. Claim window expires. Reassignment decision with the next owner. No eligible owner is available.
